The Mississippi Northern Bankruptcy Court is committed to a policy of equal access to court facilities and services and provides reasonable accommodations, with advanced notice, when appropriate.
Courthouse Accessibility
The Thad Cochran U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse is accessible to those with physical disabilities.
Courtroom Accommodations for Persons with Communication Disabilities
By mandate of the Judicial Conference, the Court is required to make reasonable accommodations for deaf and hearing-impaired participants that have proceedings before the court. Reasonable accommodations include sign language interpreters or other auxiliary aids and services. Participants in court proceedings are defined as parties, attorneys, or witnesses. Court proceedings include trials, hearings, ceremonies, and other public programs or activities conducted by the court. Section 341 meetings are not considered court proceedings.
Requests for reasonable accommodations in court proceedings should be made to an Access Coordinator at least 30 days prior to a scheduled court hearing. In the event a court hearing is scheduled with less than 30 days’ notice, requests must be made as soon as possible after the hearing is scheduled. You may contact the Clerk’s Office at 662-369-2596 to reach one of the Court’s Access Coordinators named below:
