On December 27, 2020, the Consolidated Appropriations Act created a new (temporary) subsection (i) of Section 1328 of the Bankruptcy Code.  This subsection permits a court to grant a chapter 13 debtor a regular discharge after considering certain factors outlined in Section 1328(i).

A debtor must request a discharge under 1328(i) by filing a motion (and proposed order) using a specific CM/ECF event: Bankruptcy > Motions/Applications > Discharge Pursuant to Section 1328(i).
