Court to Remain Open During Government Shutdown

Monday, January 22, 2018

Although the federal government is currently shutdown, the U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Mississippi is open and will continue its normal operations until further notice.

Matters set for hearing or trial before the Court are expected to proceed as scheduled.  According to the Office of the U. S. Trustee, meetings of creditors will also continue to be held as scheduled.

Deadlines will not be globally impacted as a result of the shutdown.  However, the Clerk’s Office will attempt to resolve issues that may arise as a result of the immediate closure of government agency parties on a case by case basis.

Feel free to contact the Clerk’s Office at 662-369-2596 should you have questions.
